Duty First! With Design-Build
That’s the motto of the 1st Infantry Division stationed at Ft. Riley KS.
Summit Concrete wanted to do their duty and did so by creating a close knit design team with Bristol Companies and Gossen Livingston Architects.
This Design-Build Team worked together to create a design that not only met the requirements, but exceeded the Army’s requirements for a sustainable, long lasting, low maintenance building.
Tilt-UP is blast resistant & Long-Lasting
Tilt-up's flexibility in design allows it to meet many building requirements. Tilt-up met the ACOE requirements for blast reistance,
In addition to blast resistance, tilt-up's high level of endurance meets the ACOE's 25 year maintenance-free building requirements.
LEED Compatible Building Design
This project is LEED Certification Driven and tilt-up concrete is a great source for LEED points. The use of tilt-up provides a great secondary advantage of giving the building an easy way to gain points.
Furthering the LEED advantage, the building tilt-up system for the Troop Readiness area includes insulated tilt-up panels.
By using insulated tilt-up panels in the troop readiness area no additional furring out of the panels is required. This shortened the overall schedule time to complete the building project.
Include a Variety of finishes in ONe Tilt-Up Panel
Among the different finishes, the panels include:
- Cast-In Thin-Brick,
- Fracture Fin Ribbed Formliner
- Exposed Aggregate.
Summit is providing full structural packing, including building design, ftgs, slabs, tilt up panels, and structural steel.
