Innovating the Way we Build
Summit Concrete is a pioneer for Kansas City in the area of Architectural Tilt-Up. We are continually
innovating the building process and setting the Benchmark for new Tilt-up construction techniques which were used on Oddo Development Buildng A & Building B.
Summit Concrete perfomed all the concrete work, including the Design/Build for the wall panels.
The owner originally conceived the buildings as plant cast precast but Summit Concrete was able to shave over $150,000 off the cost of the two proposed buildings by casting tilt up panels on site. This allowed for faster turn-a-round and a quicker occupancy.
ODDO Building A was built using cast-on-site concrete wall panels. This 56,000 SF Tilt-up Office/Warehouse facility utilizes cast-in concrete thin brick and burnished 8” X 16” thin block along with exposed river rock aggregate.
This project was the first in the nation to use the concrete thin block snap system which eliminated the need for conventional hand laid masonry units.
